The Winter Symposium
July 2006

CAIA’s Winter Symposium for 2006 “Recovering Lives” was held at the Port Arthur Motor Inn 4-6 July.

Plenary AddressLaurel Ulrich
The Symposium began with a plenary address from Professor Laurel Ulrich (History) Harvard University who was introduced by Professor Cassandra Pybus (History) University of Sydney.

Tour  
Professor Noel Frankham (Art) University of Tasmania, and Julia Clark, Interpretations Manager, Port Arthur Historic Site, conducted a tour of the site after presenting the panel “Creating Art for historic sites: the Port Arthur Project”.
