BA, BFA and BCA Honours Research Projects in
Cultural Environments and Heritage

Intending honours students from any Australian university are invited to apply for a Cultural Environments and Heritage (CEH) research project. These projects are available in disciplines offered within the Faculty of Arts, including Aboriginal Studies, Asian Languages and Literatures, Art, Classics, Creative Writing, English, History, and Sociology.

This exciting new initiative of the Faculty of Arts offers honours students internships in outstanding cultural institutions located within the extraordinary cultural environments of Tasmania. Partner institutions include: the Port Arthur Historical Site Management Authority, the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery, the State Library of Tasmania, and the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery. Successful applicants will undertake their honours research under the joint supervision of an academic from their home discipline and a specialist from the cultural institution.

Generous honours scholarships are available. For information about scholarships supporting these projects please visit the University Scholarships Office website.

The CEH work-in-progress for 2007 was recently held at the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery. For photos and information on the day, please visit the 2007 work-in-progress page.
